Death Valley Trip

Troop 21 visited the lowest point in North America at Badwater in Death Valley National Park. The Troop made a trip to the park for the Dark Sky Festival and although there was lot of stargazing, there was also hiking, exploration and fun.

Anton and Henry Earn Order of the Arrow

Two T21 Scouts were initiated into The Order of the Arrow (OA), Scouting’s national camping honor society. It recognizes Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Congratulations Anton and Henry.

Joshua Tree Fun

Troop 21 had a great time at its annual Joshua Tree Campout. There was lots of bouldering, rock climbing, stargazing and more. Some of the Scouts ventured into the backcountry and spent the night on the Boy Scout Trail in the National Park.

Have a flag to retire? T21 can help

Troop 21 needs your help to make sure that we continue to promote proper and restful flag retirement. There’s a specific and respectful process for disposing of flags in a formal manner, and simply throwing them away can be considered disrespectful and unacceptable.

If you are in possession of a flag that is no longer a fitting emblem, please fill out the google form attached below, and allow for Troop 21 help your family retire it.

Thank you for your help,

Troop 21 At Barton Flats

The past weekend marked Troop 21’s first visit to Barton Flats, providing yet another worthwhile opportunity for the scouts. The luscious location graced by a lake made for a beautiful hike and a fun campout. Scouts participated in a variety of activities, from hiking, cooking, and fishing, and completed rank requirements. All in all, it was a very successful campout, with a strong direction for the troop to return, sometime in the near future.

Noah’s Eagle Scout Project

This past Saturday of September the 16th; Troop 21 provided service in the form of Life Scout Noah’s Eagle Scout Project, as they helped clean out Paz-Naz, First Church of the Nazarene’s utilities closet. Having been previously hosted by Paz-Naz, it was nostalgic to return to the origins of Troop 21, assisted by some veteran Eagle Scouts and scoutmasters as well. It was a fantastic turn-out, with a very grateful beneficiary, who was honored to be assisted by such optimistic and hardworking scouts, and parents alike.
