The Philmont crews hiked to Mt. Lowe. They got in some good trail miles.

Joshua Tree 2023

Rock climbing at the annual Joshua Tree campout was a hit. Everyone also had fun bouldering and hiking. Shout out to Coco and Andrew who made the best pancakes ever!

On the last night some T21 Scouts hiked out the Boy Scout trail to sleep in the National Park.

Holiday Party

T21 celebrated its accomplishment at the holiday party. At the Court of Honor we presented rank advancements and merit badges. We also welcomed Alex Cronin to the long list of Troop 21 Eagles. (He is number 171.) We also thanked Karen Turner for her years of service as Committee Chair and Jennifer Errico for her years as Scoutmaster. Congratulations to everyone!

Oliver’s Eagle Project

A crew pitched in to help Oliver to complete his Eagle Project this weekend.  The crew built a bridge, removed a tree and fixed a trail at the Salvation Army’s Camp Gilmore. Thanks to all who helped. 

Shady Cove Campout

On Oct.16-18, troop 21 went camping at Shady Cove Campground. While there, scouts hiked to the fire tower and spent the evening getting rained on. There was thunder and lightning too.

T21 Welcomes Webelos and Families to Bandido

Troop 21 Scouts, family, and some visiting Webelos enjoyed a weekend at Bandido camp in the Angeles Crest Forest. Campers hiked, played volleyball and spotlight tag, and enjoyed the forest. We even had a visit by a curious bear both nights! What a great way to start a new year of Scouting. 

Camp Cherry Valley 2022

This summer scouts from Troop 21 attended Camp Cherry Valley on Catalina Island. Liam served as our scout leader at Cherry Valley. The scouts enjoyed their time hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and playing cards.

Kern River Rafting

In July, scouts and parents drove up to the Kern River for a weekend trip of river rafting. Temperatures reached over 100 degrees and the winds were really gusty at night, but the trip down the river made it all worth it. It was a blast! One scout even got tossed out of the raft but she was quickly picked up by the crew of the following raft.

Camp Big Horn 2022

This summer some scouts attended Camp Big Horn at Hubert Eaton Scout Reservation. Scouts from Troop 21 participated in zip lining, played card games, and earned merit badges including swimming, woodcarving, and leatherwork. A few scouts joined the Astronomy merit badge overnighter. Scouts also enjoyed buying snacks and souvenirs at the general store.

Annelise is T21’s First Female Eagle!

Annelise Errico became Troop 21’s 172nd Eagle on August 23. She is the first female in the the troop to Eagle. Annelise has served as a Counselor in Training at Big Horn, hiked Philmont and earned over 40 merit badges. Her Eagle project was creating an educational booklet for Descanso Gardens. Go Annelise!

Alex Cronin is an Eagle

On August 27, 2022, Alex Cronin completed his Board of Review to become the troop’s newest Eagle Scout. For his Eagle service project he led scouts in building boxes to protect the educational gardens at Descanso Gardens. Congratulations, Alex.

Zacky Culver is T21’s New Eagle

Troop 21 welcomed Zacky Culver to its list of Eagles. Zacky restored a Pasadena trail for his Eagle Project. He has served as SPL and a camp counselor. We are proud of you!!!
