Twilight hike to Henninger

2022 Camporee!

Troop 21 had a great time at Firestone Scout Reservation for the Rose Bowl district’s 2022 camporee. Scouts cooked pasta, played football and kickball, and even participated in archery, rifle shooting, and tomahawk throwing. Troop 21 also participated in the competitive events set up by other troops such as a knot-tying event and even an event including teamwork and a slackline! Special thanks to Mr. Galassi for putting together Troop 21’s competitive event, a wonderful ball game that used teamwork to get the ball from one end of the maze to the other.

Pasadena Senior Center Gets a New Closet!

The Senior Center needed help organizing storage so Life Scout Jack Bettencourt decided to help as part of the Eagle Scout Project. Over two days he led a team to clean the area, paint, build shelves and organize. Way to go!

Backpacking in the Rain

The Scouts spent a night in the local mountains at Gould Mesa campground. It was a stormy hike in, but once the rain stopped fun was had by all. Scouts made hot chocolate, played card games, and participated in many other fun activities.

A Trail at High Point Academy

Life Scout Zacky Culver planned and led the repair of the trail behind High Point Academy for his Eagle Scout Project. Thanks to all who helped.

Troop 21’s Annual Joshua Tree Trip – 2022

What a beautiful weekend for T21’s annual trip to Joshua Tree National Park. Scouts and their families had a great time bouldering, hiking, rock climbing, and roasting marshmallows on a roaring campfire.

Helping the Salvation Army

Troop 21 helped set up the Toy Shop at the Salvations Army. This is the third year the Troop has participating in making the holidays a little better for local families.

Holiday Party

Troop 21 celebrated the holidays with a Court of Honor, music and dinner. Congratulations to all the Scouts who earned ranks and merit badges.

Shady Cove

On October 8th Troop 21 headed for Lake Arrowhead and enjoyed two nights of camping in Shady Cove. After a year and a half with no camping we were all thrilled to be with our friends, in tents, and enjoying camping outdoors together. We hiked to the fire tower and had incredible view, cooked over camp stoves, and cooked on a trail hike. It was a beautiful and cold weekend to be in the San Bernardino Mountains.

Dutch oven night

Peach cobbler was delicious cooked in our dutch ovens. This is a great method for cooking at campouts or outside at scout meetings.

Halloween!

Thank you to our SPL Oliver Cowing for planning a fun halloween night filled with fun games and great prizes. We enjoyed a movie and popcorn along with the creative costumes. Thanks to Mr. Johnson for meeting with scouts to talk about Eagle requirements.

Fall court of honor

Troop 21 Scouts were busy this summer and we celebrated their achievements at the recent Court of Honor. The troop awarded more than 150 merit badges and eight rank advancements. They also honored those Scouts who recently earned their Eagle rank: Tex Bonham, Lucas Errico and Jacob Williams.
