Annelise Errico became Troop 21’s 172nd Eagle on August 23. She is the first female in the the troop to Eagle. Annelise has served as a Counselor in Training at Big Horn, hiked Philmont and earned over 40 merit badges. Her Eagle project was creating an educational booklet for Descanso Gardens. Go Annelise!
On August 27, 2022, Alex Cronin completed his Board of Review to become the troop’s newest Eagle Scout. For his Eagle service project he led scouts in building boxes to protect the educational gardens at Descanso Gardens. Congratulations, Alex.
Troop 21 welcomed Zacky Culver to its list of Eagles. Zacky restored a Pasadena trail for his Eagle Project. He has served as SPL and a camp counselor. We are proud of you!!!
Scouts worked on earning Shoot! as part of the BSA STEM Nova program. High lights included rocket launches and giant slingshots.
Troop 21 had a great time at Firestone Scout Reservation for the Rose Bowl district’s 2022 camporee. Scouts cooked pasta, played football and kickball, and even participated in archery, rifle shooting, and tomahawk throwing. Troop 21 also participated in the competitive events set up by other troops such as a knot-tying event and even an event including teamwork and a slackline! Special thanks to Mr. Galassi for putting together Troop 21’s competitive event, a wonderful ball game that used teamwork to get the ball from one end of the maze to the other.
The Senior Center needed help organizing storage so Life Scout Jack Bettencourt decided to help as part of the Eagle Scout Project. Over two days he led a team to clean the area, paint, build shelves and organize. Way to go!
The Scouts spent a night in the local mountains at Gould Mesa campground. It was a stormy hike in, but once the rain stopped fun was had by all. Scouts made hot chocolate, played card games, and participated in many other fun activities.
Life Scout Zacky Culver planned and led the repair of the trail behind High Point Academy for his Eagle Scout Project. Thanks to all who helped.
What a beautiful weekend for T21’s annual trip to Joshua Tree National Park. Scouts and their families had a great time bouldering, hiking, rock climbing, and roasting marshmallows on a roaring campfire.
Troop 21 helped set up the Toy Shop at the Salvations Army. This is the third year the Troop has participating in making the holidays a little better for local families.
Troop 21 celebrated the holidays with a Court of Honor, music and dinner. Congratulations to all the Scouts who earned ranks and merit badges.
