Our scouts had a blast — they did a great job both competing as well as hosting an event. Troop 21 had a record 43 Scouts attend and we earned several ribbons, with the Flaming Phoenix Patrol earning both a Presidential ribbon and a special Scout Spirit award – a unique distinction that is personally handed out by the Camporee Campmaster. Way to go!
Thank you to all of our older scouts that demonstrated a remarkable amount of responsibility for running the battering ram event: Jason, Brandon, Jacob, Tex, Marco, Zacky, Lucas and Maxwell. They made it fun and safe for all 350 competing scouts. Good work!
On Monday, April 8th, Lorenzo Edgar completed his Eagle Scout board of review. We are so proud of him for being Troop 21’s 149th Eagle Scout! Congratulations!
More than 30 Troop 21 boys, girls and adults spent 3/30/19 clearing weeds, pruning bushes, and planting flowers at PazNaz. The church has been home to T21 for 65 years and we always enjoy the opportunity to give back.
On March 23-24 T21 went to Firestone Scout Reservation for our annual Patrol Camp. We welcomed all our newly bridged Scouts for a weekend of learning skills, exploring and fun. The best part was competing to win the Golden Spatula, which was won by the Flaming Phoenix Patrol. Good job!
At our Spring Court of Honor on March 18, we welcomed all our newly bridged Scouts to Troop 21, including a group of the first girls in all of Pasadena. We presented ranks from Scout to Eagle along with dozens of merit badges, 50-Miler Awards, Winter Camp patches, and Founders patches to all those involved in creating our girls troop.
At this court of honor we celebrated our three new Eagle Scouts: Max Winn, Aidan Currer, and Kema Allin! Congratulations on your great achievement!
Our New Scout Day was held on March 9th to welcome new Scouts and help them work on their Scout rank. Welcome to Troop 21!
Three generations of Scouting: Congratulations Kema on passing your Eagle Board of Review. You are Troop 21’s 148th Scout to earn BSA’s highest rank. You have worked hard and never gave up to achieve the goal we all strive for.
The Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge was hosted by Mr. Galassi. We got to do so many fun activities such as blowing an airbag. Thank you, Mr. Galassi.
Troop 21 had some winter fun at Hubert Eaton Scout Reservation near Lake Arrowhead. Fifteen Scouts attended the “Lost in Space” camp, where we sledded, had snowball fights, hit the archery and rifle ranges, climbed the rock wall, launched rockets, and sledded some more. We scored a second place overall ribbon (out of 9 troops) and our X-Wing (shout-out to Mr. Galassi for all his help) was honored as “the best wagon ever.”
Congratulations to Aidan Currer, who officially became Troop 21’s 147th Eagle Scout after he completed his Board of Review on Feb. 4. Here is Aidan and his parents with his Board.
Congratulations to Max Winn for earning his Eagle rank! Max earned Boy Scout’s highest rank on Jan. 28th and became the Troop’s 146th Eagle Scout. Here is Max after completing his Board of Review.
Troop 21 spent the morning at the Salvation Army in Pasadena stuffing food bags for families and setting up the Toy Shop for children. Thank you Mr. Cowing for arranging this excellent service project. Happy holidays!
